About Mortex Fitness
Mortex Fitness, formerly known as Workout World and Dynamic Insight, has been a trusted name in the fitness industry since 1990.
We began as a wholesale distributor specializing in high-quality cardiovascular and strength training equipment, offering a diverse range of products from leading international brands such as Body Iron, Next Fitness, Innova Fitness, Everlast, and Reebok.
With over 35 years of experience in the fitness industry, including my role as Operations Manager for Olympic Fitness Equipment in Melbourne and as a successful franchise owner of Workout World, we’ve evolved into a nationally recognized, independently owned fitness group.
Our journey took a significant turn when the Workout World Group was acquired by the Super Retail Group as part of their expansion into the fitness sector, complementing their ownership of Rebel Sports. Following the acquisition, all Workout World franchises were dissolved, and the brand was rebranded as Rebel Fit.
This change forced me to re-evaluate my business, leading to the creation of Dynamic Fitness. Under the Dynamic Fitness name, we successfully adapted to a changing market and continued to provide our customers with top-tier fitness equipment.
Dynamic Insight Fitness, as it became known, operated successfully for over 10 years, proudly serving a wide range of customers with an expanded product selection and exceptional service.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 presented new challenges. As demand for fitness equipment skyrocketed, many of our long-time suppliers shifted to direct-to-consumer sales, making it increasingly difficult for retailers like us to source high-quality products. During Victoria’s extended lockdowns, we made the tough decision to close our physical showroom and focus on serving government agencies and gyms exclusively.
In 2024, with a renewed vision, I decided to relaunch the business under a new name Mortex Fitness. The name "Mortex" reflects my personal journey and dedication to the industry, with the intention of passing this legacy on to my children in the future. Today, Mortex Fitness is proud to be an official accredited supplier to NSW Fire Brigades, providing equipment to over 100 fire stations across the state. Our clientele also includes schools, pharmacies, physiotherapists, 5-star resorts, surf lifesaving clubs, police departments, and more.
